Q. Good day, Kaywikk! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is What made you want to become a musician?
A. I started delving into music creation approximately two years ago. Although I had been writing songs for some time, I had never actually recorded any of them. However, with the help of a friend who had an in-home studio, I finally had the opportunity to lay down a track. The response I received was overwhelmingly positive, with many encouraging me to continue pursuing music. Since then, I have been steadily gaining momentum and recognition in the music scene.
Q. Who are your musical influences and why?
A. My biggest musical influence is Polo G, primarily because our stories align closely with the experiences he shares through his music. His songs resonated with me on a personal level and actually inspired me to pursue a career in rap. During a challenging period in my life, where I was facing significant transitions, one of his tracks, "Through the Storm," played a pivotal role in helping me overcome those difficulties. The relatability and uplifting message in his music provided the support and motivation I needed to navigate through that tough time.
Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
A. One of the most significant highlights in my career was during a video shoot when I witnessed something truly special. All my friends who were present started passionately singing and enthusiastically chanting the lyrics to my songs. It was a powerful moment that confirmed they were not just passively listening, but genuinely enjoying and connecting with my music. Experiencing their support and witnessing their genuine enthusiasm was an incredible feeling that filled me with joy and a sense of accomplishment.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. When I envision my life in five years, I see myself having achieved a significant milestone: being signed to a record label or potentially establishing my own music collective, where I can nurture and support talented younger artists. My aspirations are not driven by a desire to become the biggest or the best in the industry. Instead, my ultimate goal is to provide my family with a life that surpasses the challenges and limitations they have faced before. It's about creating opportunities and ensuring that my loved ones can experience a level of comfort and fulfillment they may not have had in the past.
Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters?
A. I genuinely appreciate each and every person who takes the time to listen to my music, show support by reposting or liking it. Your support means the world to me, and I truly love all of you. It's because of your encouragement and enjoyment of my music that I find the motivation to keep going. No matter the challenges you may be facing, I urge you to keep your heads up. I understand that life can become increasingly difficult each day, but remember, those hardships are merely indicators that you're getting closer to achieving greatness.
