Q. Good day, Reap! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?
A. My father was a member of a group called COMPTON'S RIGHTOUS. Despite being signed to Interscope, his music was shelved because it was too positive and uplifting for our community during the Gangsta Rap era. Now, I feel compelled to carry on that legacy in my own unique manner.
Q. Who are your musical influences and why?
A. To start, my musical hero is my father, DJ LG, who is widely known, even recognized by Flying Lotus. Next, the late MF DOOM's flows have deeply impressed me; he had a captivating, animated style akin to a rapping villain. Lastly, NAS's raps and distinctive approach have had a significant influence on how I select beats and approach my music, particularly when paying close attention.
Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
A. Getting 30,000 plays and performing from it was a pivotal moment in my career. The overwhelming support from my fans and listeners gave me a tremendous sense of validation and encouragement. It showed me that my music was resonating with people and reaching a wider audience.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. In five years, I envision myself standing on stage, surrounded by a cheering crowd, with tears of joy streaming down my face as I say, "THANK YOU EVERYONE! I LOVE YOU GUYS!" This moment will be a culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and unwavering support from my fans and supporters.
