Interview With The Voice of Rebellion: Nostalgia's Anthems for Nonconformists Everywhere

Q. Good day, Nostalgia! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?

A. My journey into music was strongly influenced by my family. My grandfather, a skilled bass player who contributes his talents to the church, played a pivotal role. He introduced me to playing the guitar, and while I may not be a master, I've developed my own proficiency. Music is an integral part of my family. Both my mother and my two sisters are accomplished singers and piano players, actively participating in church music as well. Music has been a constant presence throughout my entire life. Even my father had a background in rapping, and though he's moved on, my uncle continues to be involved in the rap scene. It's safe to say that my family's musical legacy has deeply influenced me, and I take immense pleasure in embracing and enjoying every aspect of it.

Q. Who are your musical influences and why?

A. I draw inspiration from a variety of contemporary musical icons, including Travis Scott, Kanye West, Eminem, Hopsin, Alyssia Cara, Taylor Swift, A$AP Rocky, and the list goes on. These artists have a profound influence on me due to their exceptional talents and innovative production styles. What truly resonates with me is how they conceive an idea and flawlessly bring it to life, mirroring the vision they had in their minds. I find a strong parallel in the way I create, shaping my music to match the soundscape I've envisioned. The ability to translate imagination into reality is a skill these artists excel at, and it's a quality that fuels my own creative process.

Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

A. My most significant musical accomplishments undoubtedly revolve around the live performances I engage in and the exposure to new audiences I receive on a weekly basis. Witnessing listeners transition into devoted fans is a thrilling experience. Yet, the most crucial aspect for me remains the ability to create a meaningful impact through my music.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A. Looking ahead five years, I envision myself as one of the foremost artists in the nation. My aspiration is to become a relatable figure and a source of inspiration for others. In this time frame, my goal is to use my music as a platform to motivate individuals and ignite the passion within those who share similar dreams.

Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters?

A. One message I have for my supporters and fans: there is never a dream too big. Dream big, think outside the box. A lot of times, we feel like our dreams are a waste of time and that we won't make it. But what's your definition of making it? Don't be so hard on yourself. Your mind is your reality and whatever you want to make happen, do that. Make it happen. I tell myself all the time, when I'm doubting myself, execute, execute, execute. You've got to make a plan and go follow it. Don't ever let it fall through. Love y'all.
