A. Since I was young, I've been immersed in the world of music. My brothers had their own rock band, and I would tag along as their mascot, joining in with small instruments during their live performances. While my initial aspiration was to become a professional backup dancer, life had other plans. My introduction to recording studios came through a guy I was dating while living in Italy. He happened to be a rapper working on his debut EP. One fateful day, he took me along to a recording session, where the producer – who also owned a record label – heard me freestyling. Impressed by my skills, he extended an offer for me to sign a record deal, setting me on an unexpected musical journey.
Q. Who are your musical influences and why?
A. My musical upbringing was steeped in a diverse range of genres. Jazz icons like Nina Simone, Pat Metheny, and Joe Pass, along with the soulful sounds of Blues and the electrifying energy of Rock from bands like Deep Purple, The Police, Steel Pulse, and Nirvana, were the dominant tunes in our home. Delving into the realm of Rap and Hip Hop, my influences span from the intricate flows of Eminem and Twista to the captivating performances of Busta Rhymes and the legendary RAKIM. Not to forget the profound impact of Tupac and the undeniable influence of the King of Pop, MJ himself, whose musical legacy remains unparalleled.
Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
A. I was presented with the opportunity to sign a record deal with Universal Music Italy, all thanks to the independent music I had been releasing at that point. This offer materialized following my collaboration with a renowned Italian rapper, who discovered me on YouTube and invited me to feature on their album. This recognition and subsequent offer from Universal Music Italy marked a significant turning point in my musical journey.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. In my vision of the future, I envision myself at the pinnacle of success, having conquered international music charts and garnered widespread recognition. My musical journey would be marked by a diverse and extensive catalog, a true testament to my creative range. Adorning my walls would be several plaques, each representing a milestone achieved through my music, with no less than 10 platinum records in my collection. The scope of my influence would extend beyond just my own music. I'd be the driving force behind multiple recording studios located across the globe, nurturing and guiding emerging talents under my label, WLD Music. Through this endeavor, I would leave behind a trail of inspiration, empowering other artists to reach their full potential. As both an artist and an entrepreneur, I wouldn't simply follow trends – I would set them. My unique style and vision would carve out a distinct lane for me in the music industry, positioning me as an international trendsetter. This status would be accompanied by a profound respect earned for the impact and innovation I bring to the global stage. My reach wouldn't be limited to music alone. I would also forge pathways into the realms of cinema and fashion, solidifying my presence and influence in these industries.
