Q. Good day, R.A.B.! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?
A. I’ve always considered myself a creative individual, so the truth is, I casually wrote some lyrics one day for the fun of it and decided to use them as an Instagram caption. Surprisingly, the people in my hometown seemed to enjoy it, and that led me to keep doing it until I eventually created a full-fledged song. I completely fell in love with the art of songwriting after that initial experience, and I’ve been absolutely obsessed with it ever since.
Q. Who are your musical influences and why?
A. It might sound a bit cheesy, but I genuinely believe that every artist I’ve ever listened to has influenced my musical style in some way. I don’t limit myself to the ideas of just one or a few artists. However, lately, I’ve been paying particularly close attention to the music of Henry Verus, Brent Faiyaz, and Quadeca, and I can definitely say that their influence shines through in my own music.
Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
A. My most significant career moment, without a doubt, was when a record label reached out to me to discuss the possibility of signing a deal. Ultimately, I decided it wasn’t the right move at that time, but the mere fact that those discussions happened provided me with the validation I needed to believe that I could truly pursue this as a career.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. Looking ahead five years, I envision myself continuing to do exactly what I’m doing now, but on a much grander scale. My primary goal remains creating music that resonates with people and living life to its fullest.
Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters?
A To be perfectly honest, I don’t think I have a large enough fan base yet to convey a specific message. However, for those who listen to my music and are also aspiring musicians, I’d like to emphasize that good music has a way of being heard, no matter the circumstances. Keep pushing forward and maintain that relentless drive because there’s no time to let off the gas pedal just yet.
