From Middle School Poetry to Powerful Songwriting: An Interview With Young Sun

0

Q. Good day,
Young Sun! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is What made you want to become a musician?

A. I’ve always written poetry since middle school, and eventually, it evolved into songwriting. I couldn’t stop writing because it was my way of venting and expressing myself.

Q. Who are your musical influences and why?

A. Kanye is my biggest influence; he definitely inspired me to make music. “Jesus Walks” and “Through the Wire” showed me how deep music could be. Jay-Z also played a huge role with his intelligence and business mindset. These two are probably my biggest influences.

Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

A. I have a few highlights. Honestly, I feel like I leveled up when I dropped my single “Arrived” in 2022. The sound, delivery, and bars were the best I’ve delivered so far.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A. I see myself going viral, traveling the world on tour with a wife, kids, and plenty of fans loving my music. I envision having different streams of income, constantly striving to grow and improve, and helping my loved ones succeed as well.

Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters?

A. Take this journey with me, and let’s grow together. I know I’m good now, but I’m only getting better. I have plenty of bops in the vault; new music is on the way. I want my music to uplift and inspire and maybe get you lit too. I believe we are all connected to each other and God, so our potential is unlimited. Whatever you believe in and are passionate about, I know we can achieve it with hard work and dedication, like Nip said.
