Interview With Ceevert: A Journey of Self-Taught Success and Resilience

Q. Good day,

Ceevert! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is What made you want to become a musician?

A. I’ve listened to rap exclusively for as long as I can remember. I always knew I could and would get into music, but being from Scotland, I wasn’t sure how. The mindset and opinions here didn’t align with my ambitions until I had an ego death that woke me up. I built a home studio, learned to mix and record by watching countless YouTube videos, and endured many tough nights. Now, 1-2 years later, here I am—a self-taught artist and engineer.

Q. Who are your musical influences and why?

A. I have a few. Early on, I was heavily influenced by G-Unit (50 Cent), who inspired me with their hustle mentality and hard work. ASAP Rocky had a huge impact on my style, mindset, and the importance of being yourself. Wiz Khalifa and Berner showed me how strong my love for the perfect plant is and taught me not to go broke on my own supply. Business moves are essential when playing hard. Work hard, play hard. #TGOD

Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

A. Probably flying out to Canada, Las Vegas, and California—experiencing it all like a movie and taking my videographer with me.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. At the TOP.

Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters?

A. Whenever you feel down, know that I’ve been there too. You’re not alone. Better days come to those willing to put in the time. Live up to God and do everything with good intentions. Don’t just watch time go by—take it while it lasts.
