Interview With CMZ: From Recording in a Closet to Streaming Success

Q. Good day,
CMZ! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is What made you want to become a musician?

A. I started making music when I was 12. I was attracted to the idea of expressing myself and telling stories through music. It all began in a small space—a closet, actually—where I found the perfect spot to start recording and experimenting with sounds. Watching my music evolve and connecting with listeners has been an incredible journey.

Q. Who are your musical influences and why?

A. My musical influences are varied, but they all share a common thread of authenticity and passion. I draw inspiration from artists who tell relatable stories and create music that resonates with people’s emotions. I aim to create songs that are both meaningful and enjoyable, especially focusing on themes like summer, heartbreak, money, and chasing dreams.

Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

A. One of the biggest highlights of my career so far was flying out to Philadelphia to record multiple songs. This incredible experience marked a significant step in my music journey. I had the chance to meet up with friends and enjoy making music together, which was both inspiring and a lot of fun. Another major highlight was reaching over 85,000 streams and earning a bronze record. These milestones are a testament to the hard work and dedication I've put into my music, and I'm grateful for the support from my listeners.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A. In 5 years, I see myself continuing to grow as an artist and expanding my reach. I hope to release more music, collaborate with other artists, and perform live. My goal is to keep creating family-friendly music that resonates with all ages and to inspire others to follow their dreams, just as I am following mine.

Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters?

A. To all my fans and supporters, thank you for being a part of this journey with me. Your support means everything, and I hope my music brings you joy, comfort, and inspiration. Always chase your dreams and have fun while staying true to yourself without the need for substances. Remember, the people you surround yourself with greatly influence who you become. If you’re around people who don’t see or respect you for who you are, you might lose sight of yourself. Stay true to who you are.
