A Interview with Zoneout Zilla: The Emerging Artist Everyone’s Buzzing About

1 minute read

Q. Good day,
Zoneout Zilla! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is What made you want to become a musician?

A. My brothers were a huge influence. One got me into making beats, and I started making my own around age 12. I started writing raps in 4th or 5th grade and taking an interest in poetry. I learned how to record myself around 15 or 16.

Q. Who are your musical influences and why?

A. My major influences as far as artists are people like Wayne, Drake, Tupac, Boosie, Michael Jackson, Future, Young Thug, and a few more. As for producers, Zaytoven, Pharrell, Rellymade Beats, Drumdummie—the list goes on. Writers like R. Kelly, Ne-Yo, The-Dream, and plenty of others also inspire me.

Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

A. I just released my album on October 23, and by far, this is the biggest reaction I’ve ever received. I also did my very first show in Atlanta.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A. Honestly, somewhere in an executive role for music—maybe running my own label and opening avenues I didn’t have for other new, upcoming artists.

Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters.

A. I appreciate each and every one of y’all. Time waits for no one, but it’s never too late to start doing something you love. Stay focused and grind hard. Even if the progress may seem slow, keep going.
