Q. Good day, Hyfn AlexZander! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?
A. I’ve always loved music and been creatively inclined, but what shifted me was growing up during the birth of the Chicago drill scene, watching artists like G Herbo blow up in the city. Realizing that people close to me were not only making music but staying true to who they were while doing it encouraged me to start telling my truth through music.
Q. Who are your musical influences and why?
A. My musical influences are Kanye West, Earl Sweatshirt, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Curren$y, Metro Boomin, J Dilla, and Wu-Tang Clan. I’m truly just a hip-hop nerd, so I draw inspiration from all the greats.
Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
A. My biggest career highlights so far have been performing on the debut with Poison Ivi twice in 2024 and doing it all on self-produced music.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. In five years, I see myself rocking festivals like Rolling Loud and cultivating my own team to throw my own festival, SLAPPEDFEST.
Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters.
A. One message for my fans and supporters: Remember that life is a game, but you can’t play if you never pick up the controller.
