Q. Good day, SOG Qua! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?
A. Growing up, I always hung with older people, and they would play beats and start to freestyle. One day, I decided to join in and realized I could rap. I got older and made a song on BandLab, and everybody told me this was my lane.
Q. Who are your musical influences and why?
A. G Herbo and Rylo Rodriguez. The beat selection and the way they word sh** always just resonated with me.
Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
A. I walked inside a bar, and a group of people knew me from rapping.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. In 5 years, I see myself—if not one of the top rappers in the South—one of the top rappers in Alabama.
Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters?
A. My message to all my fans and supporters is just stay with me as this sh** goes up and help me build an empire.
