Exclusive Interview with jrtherapperr: How He’s Shaping Tomorrow’s Hits

Q. Good day,
jrtherapper! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?

A. I’ve been making music and perfecting my craft since I was 14 years old (I’m 20 now), and I’m just now starting to drop my music. I grew up in the Akron/Cleveland, OH area but moved to Reno, NV recently. I make music in a wide range of genres, including rap, hip-hop, R&B, rock/alt, indie, and pop, and I’m constantly expanding into new styles. I don’t make beats (yet), but I’m learning and planning to start music school soon. I do mix and master my own vocals and create my cover art, so handle with care and lock in.

Q. Who are your musical influences and why?

A. Juice WRLD is, I would say, my biggest inspiration in music and initially inspired me to get a mic, studio time, etc. The Kid LAROI is, as of now, carrying the legacy and is my favorite artist. My music incorporates elements from these artists and others I enjoy listening to because without influence, who are you as an artist? That’s where I believe genuine music truly comes from—the inspiration and collection of others.

Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

A. So far, I would say my biggest accomplishment is my sound! For the past six years, I’ve been working on finding my sound before putting out any music to ensure I create something truly ear-catching and “radio-ready.” My music comes from my past experiences—my battles with grief, drugs, relationships, etc. This, with the help of my influences, creates my soulful melodies, cadence, raw emotion, and more. Through years of practice and dedication, I’ve crafted a unique sound that hooks my audience. I’m super excited to start sharing my journey and sound with the world.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A.
In five years, I see myself as one of the top Billboard artists, creating the best music I possibly can, doing world tours, connecting with my fans, and spreading my message of love and new beginnings.

Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters.

A.
want you to feel like my music brings your visions to life—almost like I’m crafting what your favorite artist’s favorite artist would’ve created for them, making the same impact they had on the world. “Taking Over the WRLD and Bringing Back Real Music! Everything begins with the first step, and all we can do is keep taking them. We are all artists painting our own pictures.
