A Voice on the Verge: An Interview With JayKhasoDream

Q. Good day,
JayKhasoDream! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?

A. I had gotten into music because I always liked the aura of it. Everything was music when it came to me, whether it was playing instruments or singing — it was my passion. It was a goal I’ve always had: to be on stage somewhere one day, perform, and have a successful life. My pops, before he passed away, told me and my brothers to keep on doing music, to keep singing. And I might not just be strictly singing — I’m rapping now — but it’s still in the music field that he knew I had a purpose in.

Q. Who are your musical influences and why?

A. My biggest music influencers are Khaso Yosupreme Z, Veeze, and Juice WRLD. I could keep going about a few more of my favorite artists, which are my bros, but I’ma keep it short — they know who they are. I love Khasorixh’s music because it had messages and sometimes pain put into the song about his life story, and he was trying to tell the world — and that’s what I do in a lot of my music. YosupremeZ has his own flow. He says no matter what anyone says, he doesn’t want to be like anyone else, and I love that. That’s why I rap the way I do — like no one else. I like Veeze because his flow is something like I’ve never heard before. I also love Juice WRLD; I’ve always been a fan of him. He showed me the positivity in everything — no matter what, you can make it. It might take time, it might take years, but don’t give up.

Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

A. I haven’t had a real biggest career highlight yet, besides my debut music video Feeling Left Out. But me and MizzyBlitz have an EP breakout album on the way — stay tuned.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A. In five years, I see myself making millions, being on the Top 100 Billboard Artists list, paying back the people that helped me along the way, having a beautiful family, and having all things prosper in my life.

Q. What is one message you have for your fans and supporters?

A. If I have any message for the fans, it’s to keep pushing — don’t give up. Whatever it is you wanna do, do it. Can’t nobody tell you, you can’t, and if they do, tell them to go f*** themselves, ’cause they can’t be like you.
