An Interview with LBL Jay: Creating the Anthems of a New Era

Q. Good day,
LBL Jay! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?

A. I got into making music in 6th grade. I grew up around music all my life, and the day I found out my mom was diagnosed with cancer, it made me want to go even harder—finding my sound to change my living situation.

Q. Who are your musical influences and why?

A. My musical influences are NoCap, Rylo Rodriguez, Lil Poppa, and DeeBaby. These artists inspire me because of the way they put their pain, love, and life experiences into their music in a melodic way. Some of my audience can relate to that, which naturally attracts a certain crowd to my sound.

Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

A. My biggest career highlight so far is hitting 1.4K views on one of my YouTube videos and being able to grow my audience on social media over the years. There are plenty more accomplishments to come.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A. In five years, I see myself on stage, doing shows, and living the life I aspire to as a recording artist. I see myself doing way better than I am right now.

Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters?

A. One message I have for my supporters is to find your own lane, learn how to perfect it in your own way to the best of your ability, and run with it. Don’t focus on negativity—just keep pushing toward what you know you’re meant to be.
