Q. Good day, Wun K! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?
A. I was always into music—even as a baby, I loved listening to music. Then, towards 9th grade, me and one of my close potnas, Quan (Fase), locked in and got in the studio. Then I put the mic down for a while, and in my senior year of high school, I picked it back up—and it’s only been up since.
Q. Who are your musical influences and why?
A. I’d say my musical influences are prolly Polo G, ’cause that’s who I picked up a melodic flow from, and Lil Poppa, ’cause he showed music ain’t nothin’ if you can’t feel it in your heart.
Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
A. My biggest career highlight so far is probably when I had a label offer for a life-changing amount of money, and I turned it down because I told myself if I was gonna do music, I was gonna do it without a label.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. Five years from now, I see myself with more financial freedom and all my close partners with me, winning.
Q. What is one message you have for your fans and supporters?
A. I got an EP on the way called Can I Vent, dropping on all plats May 10th, and I thank everyone who supports me. I’m gonna try my best to meet y’all expectations.
