In Conversation with Trey Havens: Crafting Moments Through Music

Q. Good day,
Trey Havens! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?

A. I started making music about 3 years ago. It seemed like something fun to do as a hobby, but I ended up being better at it than I thought. At first, I didn’t really plan on taking it seriously, but I fell in love with it. I have a bunch of musical influences.

Q. Who are your musical influences and why?

A I get inspired by all different types of music. When I hear something different from what I’ve been listening to, it piques my inspiration. I’ve been most influenced by Drake, Arizona Zervas, and Tory Lanez. I’m a big fan of the diversity in their music.

Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

A. My biggest career highlight is that I charted on the iTunes Top 200 charts twice. I charted at #39 for R&B and #5 in the Dance genre.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A. In 5 years, I see myself having a career as an artist and becoming more of an album artist instead of dropping a bunch of singles.

Q. What is one message you have for your fans and supporters?

A. To my fans and supporters, I want to say thank you and I love you all! It doesn’t take much to show support— all it takes is liking social media posts, and most people aren’t even willing to do that. If you support me in any way, I appreciate it more than you even know.
