A. Music runs through my veins as I grew up in the company of my Dad, who creates mesmerizing R&B melodies. My childhood revolved around the church, nurturing my deep connection to music. Sensing the uncertainty of basketball as a career path, I felt the need to devise a backup plan. Gathering a talented group of family members, we embarked on a journey of practice and dedication. Alongside my cousin Elijah and my dear friend Jalen, we crafted our inaugural composition called "Memphis," marking the inception of my musical endeavors. From that moment on, I have persisted in creating music, embracing it as an integral part of my life's journey.
Q. Who are your musical influences and why?
A. Growing up, both my Dad and my brother Gregory, known as LonerBoyG, constantly motivated me to strive for excellence. Recognizing my untapped talent, they wholeheartedly supported and encouraged my musical aspirations. My Dad, being a musician himself, along with my brother, played crucial roles in helping me channel my focus towards music. We would often practice together, finding immense joy and fulfillment in our shared passion. Through our collaborative efforts in rapping, my brother and I forged a deep bond that strengthened our relationship, bringing us closer than ever before.
Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
A. One of the most significant milestones in my career unfolded when my city began to take notice of my music and acknowledge my artistic endeavors. Hailing from Greenwood, South Carolina, my roots firmly planted in the place I call home, I witnessed a remarkable shift in recognition. It all began with my close friends, who passionately advocated for my talent and spread my name throughout our beloved city. As a result, I observed a noticeable surge in my Instagram followers, and my music resonated with a larger audience, drawing increased attention to my craft. It was an exhilarating experience to witness my hard work paying off and to witness the growing support for my musical journey.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. To be completely honest, I envision myself persistently grinding and hustling to achieve success in the realm of rapping. Even though I have been passionately pursuing this craft for three years now, I recognize that there is always room for improvement and growth. Therefore, I remain dedicated to honing my skills and refining my artistry. Looking ahead, my vision extends beyond just my own ambitions. I wholeheartedly aspire to uplift and support my brother, pushing him towards his own breakthrough in the music industry. Together, we will continue to work tirelessly, united in our pursuit of turning our dreams into reality.
Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters?
A. Age should never diminish the power of your voice. Regardless of your stage in life, you retain the agency to make decisions and shape the generation you influence. It is imperative to maintain a positive outlook and stay true to your authentic self. Remember, God serves as your guiding helper and loving father, always present when you are in need. Place your unwavering belief in the Lord, drawing strength and inspiration from that faith.
