Q. Good day, YD Hendrix! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is What made you want to become a musician?
A. After college, I found myself with a lot of free time and things I wanted to express. I used a ‘13 MacBook Pro to rip beats from YouTube and import them to GarageBand.
Q. Who are your musical influences and why?
A. Chief Keef’s movement and how he got his whole neighborhood recognized and secured a major deal for himself and his people inspired me. Another major influence has been Pharrell Williams; his creativity in both music and fashion always intrigued me.
Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
A. One of my biggest career highlights was winning Female Rapper of the Year at the AMA Awards in NYC, which reignited my passion for music when I was on the verge of giving up.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. In five years, I see myself living comfortably on my own terms, making a significant impact in music and fashion, maybe even owning my own shop.
Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters?
A. To my supporters, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for believing in me, even when I doubted myself. Your support keeps me motivated, and I’m ready to take things to the next level.
