Q. Good day, Cozzy Hologram! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is What made you want to become a musician?
A. I started making music around my sophomore year in high school. I had always been interested in music, but it really became something I wanted to pursue when I saw my friends creating beats on their laptops at school. That’s when I realized I had all the tools I needed to record. I fell in love with music, viewing it as both an outlet and an art form.
Q. Who are your musical influences and why?
A. My musical influences include Kendrick Lamar, G Herbo, Tyler the Creator, J. Cole, Chief Keef, Earl Sweatshirt, Rap Game Will, NBA YoungBoy, and Xanman. Kendrick Lamar’s lyricism, storytelling, jazz-influenced hip-hop instrumentals, and strong emotional delivery inspire me. J. Cole’s lyricism, punchlines, and flow are also a significant influence. I admire G Herbo for his use of sampling and storytelling, combined with his aggressive rap style. Chief Keef’s beats and his energetic rap style have shaped my sound, while Tyler the Creator’s versatility and flow in his beats are a big influence. Earl Sweatshirt’s poetic lyrics and vivid imagery in his songs are aspects I’ve tried to incorporate into my own work. Rap Game Will’s unique vocal style and storytelling through his beat choices and lyrics also impact me, and Xanman introduced me to the DMV rap flow, inspiring me with his punchlines and beat samples. NBA YoungBoy’s emotional depth and melodic expression in his music resonate with me.
Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
A. One of my biggest career highlights has been performing on stage and reshaping my image to align with my vision.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. In the next five years, I envision making a living from my music, growing significantly, and fully dedicating myself to songwriting, music production, video production, and crafting my image.
Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters?
A. I’m excited to expand my fan base and bring a fresh perspective to my lyrics and videos.
