Q. Good day, Stevotherapper! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?
A. I don’t really have a solid origin story of how exactly I got into making music. I’ve just always been into listening to different types of music such as R&B, which is my favorite, Hip-hop, rap, and Afro beats. When I was younger, my father used to always play the throwback artists that we all know and love, such as Rihanna, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, T-Pain, Usher, and many more. So, being in a household where good music was always being played made me want to try it out and see if I could do it. Turns out, I was good at it. I really didn’t start fully recording music until about the age of 16, though.
Q. Who are your musical influences and why?
A. I get asked this question a lot, and I’m never sure what to answer it with. I wasn’t really influenced by anyone to start making music, nor is my style really influenced by anyone, at least not on purpose. But people do tell me that I have a “South side” sound even though I’m from the North. Maybe it’s just my best selection.
Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
A. My biggest career highlight so far has gotta be going on tour. That was an amazing experience and one I’d love to do again.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. In 5 years, I predict multiple platinum hits going on Diamond. I predict sold-out stadiums and arenas. Definitely have an exclusive major under my belt by then, for sure. Everything will come in due time.
Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters?
A. Everything takes time. Keep applying pressure and try to find new ways to attack the same agenda. If you work at something every day, you’ll be better than you were yesterday.
