From Vibes to Vision: An Interview With Musical Artist K.I.


Q. Good day, 
K.I.! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?

A. The way I got into making music was my uncle—he put me on. One day, he brought me to the studio. I was probably like 11 or 12. He brought me to the studio and was like, “Get in there,” and I got to taking’ it serious. We played it back, and he was like, “Nephew, you are going to be a star. We just gotta fix a little’ bit of thangs, and we going to get you lit.” But he ended up gettin locked up, so you know.

Q. Who are your musical influences and why?

A. My musical influencers were—ngl—Temper Da Don, Chris Echols, Envy Dirty Ro, WorlDWonder. If we talking mainstream, I would say Rylo, NoCap, Gucci Mane, Young Dolph, Key Glock, etc.

Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

A. My biggest career highlight was me doin’ a show in ATL, then like a month later, doin’ a show in ORL.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A. In 5 years from now, I see myself being a successful rapper/entrepreneur—to the point I don’t want for nothin’. Ma Dukes, Pops, you know—just to the point the whole family straight. Starting’ generational wealth, you know.

Q. What Is One Message You Have for Your Fans and Supporters?

A. My message to my fans and supporters is that I have new music on the way—stay tuned for this hot sh** and a mixtape/album coming soon.
