Q. Good day, Gettah! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?
A. I started making music around 3 years ago. I’ve always been surrounded by it even since I was a little kid. I moved to Louisiana for a year, and the scene out there went crazy. I met some people who loved to make music and felt like I could move others with what I wanted to create. I’ve had a pretty rough past, and to think I can tell a story through words and an instrumental is amazing—hence why I’ve been creating ever since.
Q. Who are your musical influences and why?
A. My number one musical influence would have to be my family. I do all I do for those around me, with hopes of making it big one day and being able to do for them like I’ve always dreamed of.
Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
A. My biggest career highlight would have to be the time I got my dream microphone, I suppose. I haven’t had much success as I’m still new and breaking out, although that will change very soon.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. To be honest, five years is a long time away, so I know I’ll be right where my dreams are—there’s no way I won’t be.
A. To all my fans and supporters, I’ll forever say: give your all! Be authentic and proud to be you, because at the end of the day, that’s all you’ve got—yourself.
