A Conversation With SSP Nero: Turning Real-Life Stories Into Relatable Anthems

Q. Good day,
SSP Nero! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is how would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?

A. I would describe my sound to someone who’s never heard your music before as being versatile. I can speak to the streets because people can relate to my story, and I can speak to the ladies too.

Q. Is there a specific song in your catalog that you feel defines who you are as an artist? Why that one?

A. A specific song in my catalog that I feel defines who I am as an artist is my latest single, “100 Nights.” It defines me as an artist because it is my first solo single, and I feel like I’m talking about things a lot of people can relate to.

Q. If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?

A. If I could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, it would be Speaker Knockerz. His sound was really ahead of his time.

Q. What's the biggest risk you've taken in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

A. The biggest risk I’ve taken in my career so far was going out to different cities like California, Miami, and NYC to network. It taught me that networking as an artist can really get you heard by the right people.

Q. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to your music, what would you want them to know?

A. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to my music, I would want them to know they’re not just hearing songs—they’re stepping into a movement and a vision bigger than me.
