An Interview With jag: The Musician With a Sound for Every Mood

Q. Good day, jag!
We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is how would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?

A. If I could describe my music to someone who has never heard of it, I would say it’s very diverse and not directed to one certain sound or category. It’s just all kinds of different sounds.

Q. Is there a specific song in your catalog that you feel defines who you are as an artist? Why that one?

A. A song in my catalog that I would say describes who I am is called “Flaugin.” The song goes over a guy that wears cool clothes and does what he wants.

Q. If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?

A. If I could collab with anyone living or dead, it would be Lil Uzi Vert for sure. I was on him in 2015 when he first came out and have been a fan ever since. Fun fact: he was my first ever concert about a year ago, and that alone inspired me to start making my own music.

Q. What's the biggest risk you've taken in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

A. The biggest risk that I’ve taken as an artist so far has been just starting. I used to care a lot about what people thought of me, so I really just let all that out the door and just started doing me.

Q. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to your music, what would you want them to know?

A. If someone is about to go listen to my music right now, I would tell them to open their minds and don’t assume anything. And I would also say if you don’t like the first song you listen to, I guarantee you will like the next one or the rest of them. That’s how it is when you have so many different vibes.
