An Interview With Kahh Macc: The Musician Turning Losses Into Sound

Q. Good day, Kahh Macc!
We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is how would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?

A. Overall, naturally speaking, I have a melodic tone. On the contrary, I am also unorthodox in the sense of being able to switch rhythm schemes, pace, and tone.

Q. Is there a specific song in your catalog that you feel defines who you are as an artist? Why that one?

A. My track Letter 2 Kyon — It has a real sentimental value to it. I lost my best friend, and from there the passion for music influenced me to go harder and get myself and my people out of Section 8.

Q. If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?

A. If I could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, I would want to collaborate with Jarad Higgins, a.k.a. Juice WRLD, showed that through a world of pain, chaos, and abandonment issues, you can still be yourself. He shared his vulnerability and life experiences to become one of the greatest rappers in history.

Q. What's the biggest risk you've taken in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

A. The biggest risk I’ve taken in my career so far, I would say is leaving a space where I had comfort, routine, and more peace to move back to NY to follow my music dream was a huge step. That meant starting over—and trust me, through the music, you and the crowd will feel and/or relate to what I’ve been through. In addition to this, it taught me to show up for myself more: business before pleasure, surround yourself with the right team of people, and keep God first.

Q. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to your music, what would you want them to know?

A. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to my music, I would want them to know that the only thing that separates the rich from the poor is actions.
