Q. Good day, Realfly Dp! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is how would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?
A. I would describe my sound to someone who’s never heard my music before as relatable yet complex, when it comes to emotion. I make music that I feel in my heart, not to go viral. Therefore, I would say my sound is more on the organic side.
Q. Is there a specific song in your catalog that you feel defines who you are as an artist? Why that one?
A. A specific song in my catalog, I’ve always felt described me as an artist is my track “Cody and Roman.” It’s one of, if not my favorite songs I’ve ever created, solely because it captures the entire journey of what I’ve been through making music. It’s the perfect mix of pain and passion.
Q. If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?
A. If I could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, I would love to collaborate with the most would be both Michael Jackson and James Brown. They were always big influences on me and my style.
Q. What's the biggest risk you've taken in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?
A. The biggest risk I’ve taken in life period, is betting on myself. I know what I have to offer the world. I know I have something that is worth sharing. But what I’ve learned from it is that you only have one period of time where you can truly do what you love. There’s only a small window before life moves on without you. And there’s so much more time being mediocre than there is time to be great. So use your time wisely and bet on yourself.
Q. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to your music, what would you want them to know?
A. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to my music, I would you want them to know to Prepare themselves for my story. People might cry, laugh, scream, whatever. But just know that everything you hear is from a real place. Everything you hear is straight from my heart and not for a TikTok clip.
