An Interview With King Gabriel: The Rising Musician Turning Arizona Roots Into Global Ambition

Q
. Good day, King Gabriel!
We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is how would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?

A. I would describe my sound to someone who’s never heard my music before as another perspective of how we humans experience life filled with tragedies, comedies, love, and hate.

Q. Is there a specific song in your catalog that you feel defines who you are as an artist? Why that one?

A. A specific song in my catalog that I feel defines who I am as an artist is called “Fall for You,” produced by VirusGotDaAntidote. This one was made by my team, Rogue Lane Mafia — we developed this sound like no other, and the slightly rock/melodic rap with the beat’s slow/pop sound then transitions into elements of House/pop/hip-hop, then the ending with chops of my vocal sample I created for the beat. Truly, that session made me feel like the music I create is limitless and timeless.

Q. If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?

A. If I had the opportunity to collaborate with any artist, living or dead, it would be Rick James. The energy in itself and his music inspires how careless but locked-in he was.

Q. What's the biggest risk you've taken in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

A. The biggest risk I’ve taken in my career so far was building a studio called Hideawav Studios in Arizona and developing my sound and the talent around me to achieve what we truly desire. It’s been a journey, and I’m happy to experience the growth through the journey.

Q. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to your music, what would you want them to know?

A. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to my music, I would want them to know that my music is here for another perspective in life, and I hope you enjoy the truths and the motivational mindset of what I’ve learned from the world. Enjoy, and be the best version of you.
