An Interview With b4lance!: A Rising Artist Sharing His Sound and Story

Q. Good day,
b4lance! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is, how would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?

A. When it comes to my sound, the best way to describe it to someone who’s never heard my music before is some real turnt music. When you put my music on, you just want to get lit and have fun like there’s no tomorrow. You just want to rock out, to be honest.

Q. Is there a specific song in your catalog that you feel defines who you are as an artist?

A. I’m not going to lie, there isn’t a specific song in my catalog that defines who I am as an artist, but I feel like all my songs define who I am in certain kinds of ways. I love my songs like I would love my kids that I don’t have.

Q. If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?

A. Honestly, it’s a couple of artists I'd love to collaborate with, but if I had to narrow it down to one, I’d go with Lil Uzi Vert. He’s been my favorite artist since around 2015, when I was about 11 years old. He really pushed me toward making music in the first place—his style, his energy, his flows, everything about him just stands out to me. He’s my GOAT.

Q. What has been the biggest risk you've taken in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

A. Being honest, I haven’t really had a major risk like that in my music career just yet, so I’m not at a point where I can point to one and say that was the big moment. Right now I’m still building and figuring things out.
