From Young Talent to Rising Industry Influence: An Interview With Jshyne

Q. Good day,
Jshyne! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is How did you get into making music?

A. When I was about 12 years old, I started writing down lyrics from Eminem’s songs on an old desktop computer off of YouTube. I’ve always had a passion for music ever since I first heard a song, and from 12 to now, I’ve been writing music ever since.

Q. Who are your musical influences and why?

A. My main musical influences are some of the local artists who have done successfully in the music industry, like NoCap, Rylo, and other artists like Rod Wave—because of the stories behind the artists that make you want to know them more. But Eminem definitely started it all for me.

Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

A. Well, so far, there’s a recent video I did in a well-known producer’s studio to a song called Cash Addict, which is out on platforms. It got me pretty good engagement on Instagram.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A. I see myself in a penthouse looking over Miami, with an engineer in the room with me as I’m thinking about how I’m feeling to make my next masterpiece.

Q. What is one message you have for your fans and supporters?

A. A message I would tell one of my fans or supporters is: never stop.
