All In on Music: A Conversation With NEXTLEVEL

Q. Good day, NEXTLEVEL!
We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is how would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?

A. I’d describe my sound as Electric. Just really exciting—something that makes you wanna drive fast. I try to add elements of hypnotic melody, but overall, it’s turnt-up music.

Q. Is there a specific song in your catalog that you feel defines who you are as an artist? Why that one?

A. Honestly I don’t feel there’s one song, but if you go listen to “Hilary Duff,” there are a lot of personal elements in that.

Q. If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?

A. If I could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, it would be Future, Drake, and Yeat. Future is priority because he is my idol.

Q. What's the biggest risk you've taken in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

A. I think the biggest risk I’ve taken in my career is changing my stage name. I already had a name, but this whole thing’s been a risk really. I went to Miami and hung out with Trippie Redd and the rest of 1400, and came home and quit my job—really decided to go all in.
