From the Streets of L.A.: An Interview With Mack Truvaille

Q. Good day,
Mack Truvaille! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is how would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?

A. I would describe my music to someone who’s never heard it before as ECCENTRIC, Versatile, out of the ordinary, and strange. It attracts your ears and makes you want more and more. Whatever you think you’re prepared for, you won’t be. My music keeps people guessing on the flow, the bars, and the sound. You’re lucky if you catch what goes over your head.

Q. Is there a specific song in your catalog that you feel defines who you are as an artist? Why that one?

A. I can’t wait for the world to hear Mack Truvaille. It’s the real me—complex mindset and vision within the realm that surrounds me. Previously, BMackk had some songs that still stick with me to this day: “Hard Headed”, “Bloody Bottoms”, “Ready for War”, “$hake, Deviant”. All of these are pieces of my past that I will never forget. But remember—it’s not how you start, but how you finish.

Q. If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?

A. Honestly there are too many, but to keep it short Kanye West (YE), Future, Lil Uzi Vert, and Lil Wayne. They are all geniuses of their craft and with the music game itself. Kanye West (YE), with the brilliance of music-making, Future, with the magnificent flows, Lil Uzi Vert, with his undeniable sound and positive aura in his music, and last but certainly not least, the Godfather of Rap— Lil Wayne—with his amazing wordplay and freestyle intellect.

Q. What's the biggest risk you've taken in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

A. The biggest risk I’ve taken in my career so far is Right Now is my name change, and developmental phase. People know me in the streets of L.A. as BMackk. BMackk has matured, adapted, morphed into something the world doesn’t quite understand. People fear the unknown. Being a lucky find in the flesh is a rare sighting to one’s eyes. The world won’t be ready for what’s to come, but they will understand Mack Truvaille and realize what’s been unknown is here with us.
