Raw, Real, and Relentless: An Interview with Breakout Artist TRIPP

Q. Good day, TRIPP! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is how would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?

A. I would describe my sound to someone who’s never heard my music before as a mixture of different genres: Emo, Pain, Country, and Hip-Hop.

Q. Is there a specific song in your catalog that you feel defines who you are as an artist? Why that one?

A. Yes, I have a song out called “Can’t Find It.” It talks about how I’ve been doing music for years. It describes who I am and what I’ve been through.

Q. If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be?

A. If I could collaborate with any artist living, it’d be NBA YoungBoy, because he’s got a story behind all his lyrics and you can feel it. As for an artist who passed away, it would be Juice WRLD, because he was different from all the other artists out there.

Q. What’s the biggest risk you’ve taken in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

A. The biggest risk I’ve taken in my career so far was when I did a talent show for King Von’s manager. I learned it doesn’t matter how talented you are; you still gotta grind for it.

Q. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to your music, what would you want them to know?

A. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to my music, I’d want them to know to just keep going. It doesn’t matter how long it takes — the sun’s gonna shine when the storm’s over.
