Q. Good day, MalekBSavage! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is how did you get into making music?
A. I got into making music due to always having a passion for it growing up. I’ve always imagined myself in that spotlight, you know, plus it’s therapeutic—it helps get stuff off my chest and mind.
Q. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
A. My biggest career highlight so far was when I was dealing with Authentic Empire for a period of time. Just being up in the city, I met a lot of good people and made connections. I even have a song with Rx Peso featuring on it.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A. In the next five years, I should have my whole career established. I should be making music next to big names in the industry and taking great care of my family.
Q. Who would you say are your musical influences and why?
A. When it comes to my music influences, I would say Lil Wayne is a huge one for sure, and then you have Young Thug, Future, and Lil Baby—artists like them who have experienced the struggle, you know, not just making music but making music that has a real story behind it.
Q. What is one message you have for your fans and supporters?
A. A message I have for both my fans and the people who are supporting me throughout my music journey is: thank y’all, man, and stick with me. We’re going to the top soon, and I WILL NOT disappoint. I love y’all.
