Q. Good day, Topia! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is, how would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?
A. I would describe my sound to someone who’s never heard my music before as experimental pop, R&B, and underground hip-hop, mixed with everything that sounds good to me.
Q. Is there a specific song in your catalog that you feel defines who you are as an artist?
A. When it comes to a specific song I have in my catalog that I feel defines who I am as an artist, I think my song “THISMYFATE” really defines me as an artist because it highlights everything I’m doing it for.
Q. If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?
A. If I could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, my dream collab would have to be Pharrell Williams because I take so much inspiration from his versatility.
Q. What’s the biggest risk you’ve taken in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?
A. The biggest risk I’ve taken in my career hasn’t happened yet, but it’s one that I’m prepared for. Quitting your job to pursue art full-time is the biggest risk I think any artist can take.
Q. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to your music, what would you want them to know?
A. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to my music, I would tell them that I think there’s one song for everything in my discography—you just have to find it.
