Unfiltered and Unstoppable: An Interview with MT Kerrio — A Rise Through the Grind

Q. Good day, MT Kerrio! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. The first thing we want to know is, how would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?

A. I would describe my sound to someone who’s never heard my music before as real and unfiltered. It’s pain, hustle, ambition, and growth all mixed together. You’ll hear street stories, but also elevation, like I’m talking to people who are trying to level up out of their situation.

Q. Is there a specific song in your catalog that defines who you are as an artist? Why that one?

A. Yes, a specific song in my catalog that I feel defines who I am as an artist is actually one of my more personal tracks, where I really talk about my struggles and mindset. That type of record defines me because it’s not just music—it’s my reality. I don’t just rap to sound good; I rap to be understood.

Q. If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?

A. If I had the opportunity to collaborate with any artist, living or dead, I’d love to collaborate with Nipsey Hussle. His mindset was bigger than music—ownership, independence, and building something that lasts. That’s the same lane I’m on.

Q. What’s the biggest risk you’ve taken in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

A. The biggest risk I've taken in my career so far is going all in on myself without a safety net. Investing my own money into my music, videos, and brand. I learned that if you don’t bet on yourself, nobody else will—but you also have to move smart and stay consistent.

Q. If this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to your music, what would you want them to know?

AIf this interview was the last thing someone read before listening to my music, I would want them to know that you’re about to hear something real. No cap, no gimmicks—just my life, my thoughts, and my grind. If you relate to struggle and trying to turn it into something bigger, you’re going to feel me.
